Symbol Technologies in Holtsville, N.Y., actually appointed the head of its global services division last week as a move to drive common best practices and a customer-centric view across internal design, production, sales, services, and so on. Arthur O'Donnell, who assumed the role, will continue his responsibilities as senior vice president of Symbol's Global Services Division. O'Donnell, who joined Symbol last year, has previously held positions at Solectron, Digital Equipment and Compaq Computer.

Speaking of design, blogger Dan Gillmor of the San Jose Mercury News reports that Sprint may start selling a camera-less version of the wildly popular Handspring 600 due to corporate espionage fears. (Click here.) Not for nothing, but have you ever used that camera? The quality isn't actually worthy of Maxwell Smart.
