Oracle Kicks Off Online Events For Revamped Partner Program

Unveiled at Oracle OpenWorld in October, OPN Specialized offers the software vendor's 22,000 channel partners the opportunity to become certified in specific Oracle products. Such specializations are open to "gold" tier partners in the program and are a requirement for achieving platinum-tier status.

"The Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialized program was designed to allow our valued partner community to differentiate themselves and reap the benefits of being recognized by customers for their in-depth Oracle technology or services expertise," said Judson Althoff, Oracle Senior Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Channels, in a statement.

The program offers expanded training opportunities to help solution providers become certified, as well as other benefits and resources. Oracle channel managers say certification offers a way for solution providers to differentiate themselves in the market and specialized partners will be given preferred status for sales leads and other business opportunities.

Oracle channel executives are conducting a series of online events today and tomorrow to brief resellers around the world on the program. Ted Bereswill, Oracle's head of channel and alliances in North America, is hosting a broadcast for the Americas today at 2:00 ET/11:00 PT.
