Insight Enterprsies Inc. has named Tech Data's Ken Lamneck as its new president and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2010.

Lamneck has served as president of the Americas at Tech Data since 2004. Tony Ibarguen, an Insight board member and former president of Tech Data himself, has been serving as interim CEO since September, when Rich Fennessy was let go as CEO.

"Insight has a clear strategy and a strong foundation from which to grow," stated Lamneck, in a statement. "I look forward to leading the company through its next phase of development as a trusted provider of technology solutions worldwide."

Tech Data has not named a replacement for Lamneck and will conduct a search for a new president, according to the distributor.

"We thank Ken for all his contributions throughout the years and wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor," said Tech Data CEO Robert Dutkowsky, in a statement. "Under Ken's leadership, our Americas management team—comprised of senior distribution executives with decades of industry experience — has positioned Tech Data for long-term growth and success throughout the region."

Ibarguen told a group of investors Tuesday at the Raymond James IT Supply Chain Conference in New York that Insight expected to name a permanent CEO by the end of December.

Tim Crown, chairman of Insight, said the Tempe, Ariz.-based solution provider found the right man in Lamneck.

"He brings a wealth of strategic and operational experience that is well aligned to the needs of Insight, particularly his proven track record of driving operational execution and increasing shareholder value for global enterprises in our industry," Crown said in a statement.
