Accenture Veteran Will Be Avanade CIO

Avanade, which is majority owned by Accenture, started 10 years ago by Accenture and Microsoft. Miller's background reflects that heritage.

Miller spent 16 years at Accenture, where he served as a senior director for Accenture's Collaboration 2.0 program. Miller's prior experience spans a wide range of technology and consulting functions, focused on leveraging Microsoft technology on a true enterprise scale at Accenture.

"Over the last few years, I have worked closely with the Avanade IT organization and have developed an immense appreciation for its people and the talent they embody," Miller said in a statement. "Avanade's technology teams operate at the edge of technology innovation, which gives our IT organization a powerful advantage. Avanade has the ability to move quickly and to take carefully calculated risks, when they make sense."

According to the company, the CIO at Avanade plays a strategic, hands-on role. Miller will be responsible for delivering IT capabilities to Avanade's global workforce and will be a reference point for customers. The company employs consultants with Microsoft expertise worldwide, including onshore, offshore and nearshore capabilities.
