Comptia Expands Training Offerings

The interactive course include CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Linux+, Convergence+, RFID+, Project+ and PDI+ certifications. The trade association is also offering a new entry-level certification.

"Ongoing training and certification are key building blocks to meet the ever expanding and complex job requirements facing today's IT workers," said Terry Erdle, CompTIA senior vice president, skills certifications.

The goal is to train people to take advantage of high-tech jobs, especially as sectors such as mobile and cloud computing continue to grow despite the recession. They offer both entry-level as well as more advanced skills to offer opportunities for ongoing training for those already in the tech industry who are looking to advance their careers.

According to CompTIA research, professional certifications are a critical element in career advancement for IT workers.

A survey the group conducted last year of more than 1,500 IT workers reported that 82 percent of respondents with certification considered it valuable to their career goals. Approximately half of those reported a positive first-hand experience, earning promotions, bonuses or other economic benefits as a result of being certified.
