Quest Offers IT Management Services To MSPs, Channel Partners

Quest Software has launched a program through which it will offer managed service providers and hosting companies the ability to offer their customers an expanded range of IT management services.

The company said it would provide its complete portfolio of Windows, application, database, network and virtualization management services through the Quest Service Provider Program.

The company has already signed contracts with some 15 service providers under the new program and is in discussions with another 25 to 30, said Roy Appelbaum, vice president of channel sales and alliances, in a phone interview. Savvis, DirectPointe and Azaleos are among the solution providers already working with the services. “Without Quest, desktop virtualization services would be almost impossible for us to develop on our own and scale to meet what we see as a very real growing demand,” said Dan Atkinson, vice president of alliances and marketing at DirectPointe, in a statement.

MSPs and hosting service providers can leverage the Quest services to attract new customers and expand sales to existing ones, reduce customer support costs and improve service quality, according to the company.

MSPs and hosting service companies can white label the services, Appelbaum said, with pricing and billing offered on a monthly or quarterly basis.

A key element of the new program is PacketTrap, a San Francisco-based company Quest acquired in December that developed a platform for remote management and monitoring services.
