Sirius Computer Solutions Inc. will acquire MSI Systems Integrators in a deal that will create a VAR with annual sales greater than $1 billion.

Sirius and MSI are both premier IBM business partners and major players in the IBM channel. Both also partner with Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and NetApp, among other vendors.

The terms of the acquisition weren't disclosed. Each company's board of directors has approved the deal and Sirius said in a statement that it expected to complete the acquisition by November 30, pending approval by MSI shareholders.

"Our companies have similar core values, client focus and industry leading partners," said Sirius President Joe Mertens in a statement. "MSI also complements Sirius' strategic initiatives with innovative services, technology enablement centers, and certified, experienced professionals in key technologies. The resulting company will have outstanding financial strength, national depth, unparalleled technical skills, and world class solutions from leading technology manufacturers."

San Antonio-based Sirius was #87 on CRN's 2010 VAR 500 list with 2009 revenue of $693.8 million. Omaha-based MSI was ranked No.133 with 2009 sales of $350.9 million.
