Former FalconStor Channel Chief Surfaces At CA

Petty has taken on the role of senior advisor, business development for CA's cloud customer solution unit. She will be focused on business development for AppLogic, the cloud computing platform CA gained through its 2010 acquisition of 3Tera, with specific emphasis on managed service providers that target the midmarket and solution providers that want to resell CA's cloud services.

Petty's new role at CA was confirmed to CRN by CA representatives Tuesday, where Petty was in attendance at CA's Channel Summit in New York.

A 22-year channel executive with especially deep ties to the storage and data networking channels, Petty had been with FalconStor, where she was vice president, North American sales, since its inception in 2000. FalconStor saw a management overhaul in September 2010 following the resignation of ReiJane Huai, the company's president, CEO and chairman. Huai, who founded FalconStor, resigned after disclosing that certain improper payments were allegedly made in connection with a FalconStor customer's contract.

FalconStor disclosed Petty's departure Nov. 16, 2010. In January, FalconStor named John Turner as its new vice president, North American sales.
