CA Technologies Launches Resource Web Site For Service Assurance App Resellers

In addition to providing sales assistance to the 100-plus partners who resell the Service Assurance software, the new CA Service Assurance Partner Solution Center will help CA recruit additional resellers to the product line and help existing resellers cross-sell the Service Assurance products, said Cameron Van Orman, vice president of partners and alliances for the Service Assurance business unit.

"It's a great resource for new partners who want to come into the program," Orman said in an interview, noting that the CA Service Assurance Partner Solution Center Website won't be password-restricted.

The Service Assurance product line includes CA's Application Performance Management, Infrastructure Management and Service Operations Management applications. The tools are used by businesses to maintain the performance and availability of key corporate applications across on-premise, virtualized and cloud environments.

CA acquired the infrastructure management software through its acquisition of Concord Communications (and its eHealth and Spectrum products) in 2005, and the application performance products when it bought Wily Technology in 2006. CA's acquisition of NetQos for $200 million in 2009 expanded the product line's network performance management and service delivery capabilities.

Some channel partners sell only one or two of the Service Assurance products because they were partners with the acquired companies, Orman said. The new partner center is designed, in part, to expose those partners to other applications in the product line and encourage more cross-selling, he said.

The CA Service Assurance Partner Solution Center, which is now up and running in English at www.ca.com/us/service-assurance-partner.aspx, offers a range of partner-centric content including online product demonstrations, sales and marketing resources, partner solution briefs and white papers. Within 30 to 60 days the site will support seven languages including French, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
