Francois Daumard, a former channel executive at Microsoft, is now working at Apple in the role of iPhone and iPad channel development manager, channel sources told CRN.

Daumard joined Apple in May, and his responsibilities there include managing " the recruitment and sales enablement of Channel Partners that want to deploy Mobility Solutions on Apple devices (iPhone & iPad)," according to his LinkedIn profile.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment, but Daumard's LinkedIn profile offers additional insights into his qualifications.

Prior to his move to Apple, Daumard spent almost 12 years in various roles at Microsoft. In his first position at Microsoft he managed marketing campaign infrastructure for Microsoft's French subsidiary. As a worldwide product manager, he built a product roadmap for a sales and marketing application used to support growth in SMB markets worldwide.

After another year spent in marketing, Daumard shifted into a channel management role as senior alliance and channel manager for the HP/Microsoft alliance. In 2009, Daumard became a senior manager for Microsoft's Distribution Channel Marketing department, recruiting 13,000 VARs to the program within the first 18 months, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Later in 2009, Daumard became a senior manager in the Distribution Channel Marketing department at Microsoft, where he spent over a year leading marketing and strategy for three of the five Microsoft Authorized Distributors in the U.S. As part of that role, he spearheaded cloud initiatives for his accounts.
