    Hewlett-Packard's focus on the consumer market seems to be paying off: The company took over the lead in the worldwide PC-unit-shipment market share in the fourth quarter of 2003, moving ahead of Dell, according to recent research reports from Gartner/Dataquest and Merrill Lynch. More specifically, HP captured 15 percent of the market over Dell, with 14 percent.
