All Covered Expands Managed Services Reach With Service Assurance Acquisition

All Covered extended its managed services reach recently with the acquisition Memphis-based Service Assurance.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. For All Covered, a division of Konica Minolta Business Solution, the acquisition extends the company's managed services offerings in Memphis and the mid-South region of western Tennessee, northeastern Arkansas, northern Mississippi and northwestern Alabama. Service Assurance specializes in managed IT outsourcing services, remote backup, hosted e-mail, and cloud services for primarily SMBs.

Service Assurance will now operate as All Covered Memphis. Mark Giannini, former CEO of Service Assurance, will serve as managing director of All Covered Memphis. "We're excited to be part of the All Covered team," Gianni said. "Being part of this organization will allow us to do a lot more than we would have been able to do on our own."

Service Assurance was founded in 1989. Giannini said the company moved into backup and disaster recovery solutions in 2003 after a particularly bad storm hit Memphis and left many clients without power. As a result, Service Assurance began offering off-site backup and remote management services, which then led to the company to managed services, hosting and cloud services.

"Off-site backup has become the norm now for our customers," he said. "Everyone asks about cloud services and cloud hosting, but before any of that is done, customers first want to make sure their data is safe and secure."

Giannini said he's starting to see more business opportunities in his area. "There's more optimism about the economy here in Memphis right now," he said. "Employment and IT investments are coming back, and we're starting to see businesses reinvest in their infrastructure."

All Covered has been on an aggressive acquisition streak for more than two years, purchasing MSPs and solution providers across the country in an effort to become the leading national managed services provider. All Covered's acquisition strategy is focused on buying leading regional MSPs in potentially underserved markets. Service Assurance is the sixth acquisition for All Covered this year alone.

"We're continuing to march forward with our acquisition strategy this year," said All Covered CEO Todd Croteau, adding that the company has several more deals in the pipeline that will be announced in the coming months.
