Westcon Group has made a name for itself as a networking distributor over the years, but now the company is expanding its line card to include select server and storage products.
Westcon recently signed Fujitsu as a partner, adding the vendor's server and storage products to its line card. In an interview with CRN, Westcon CEO Dean Douglas discussed how server and storage products can strengthen the distributor's networking and unified communications offerings to VARs.
But Douglas stressed that Westcon isn't trying to make itself a data center distributor, per se, and that the company will continue to focus on its networking niche. Douglas also offers some thoughts about how Westcon will play in the cloud market.
