Video: Cisco's Goodwin Says Services Are Driving Partner Profitability

Cisco is shifting its focus this year toward services and with good reason -- it's becoming the dominant driver for partner growth and profitability.

Keith Goodwin, senior vice president of worldwide channels at Cisco, said that five years ago partners generated only about 20 percent of their revenue from services. Today, he said, that number is around 50 percent. In addition, Goowdin said that consulting and integration services are much more valuable to customers and therefore provide better margins and key market differentiation.

Goodwin talked with CRN at Cisco's Partner Summit about the networking giant's services shift, the new Cisco Services Partner Program, and what it all means for partners.
