Oracle developed new cloud-based rapid implementation tools that channel partners can use to quickly install Oracle's J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne applications for industrial manufacturing, engineering and construction customers.

Oracle also said it's making the tools, called Oracle Business Accelerators, available across a broader range of countries. The cloud-based Oracle Business Accelerators are offered through the Oracle PartnerNetwork and, in some countries, through the vendor's consulting services.

Oracle Business Accelerators combine application implementation and configuration tools with Oracle "best-practice" expertise that partners use to quickly install Oracle applications for midsize customers, defined as companies with annual revenue between $100 million and $1 billion. Channel partners who participate are certified or "specialized" to sell Oracle Accelerate-based solutions, as well as being certified to sell to specific industries.

"Manufacturers of all sizes require specialized tools to support complex supply chain and financial management activities, and our clients tell us the biggest barrier to ERP transformation is the perceived implementation time and risk," said Kalanithi Venkatesan, president, CAPSCIENT, an Oracle partner that works with Oracle's J.D. Edwards applications, in a statement.

Oracle introduced a new Business Accelerator for J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 with 25 new business process flows across 12 modules including financials, procurement, order management, inventory management, and manufacturing and maintenance. The Accelerator tools, for example, assist when configuring the applications for expense management, customer self-service and capital asset management.

Oracle also unveiled new versions of Oracle Business Accelerators for J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne for specific industries, one for industrial manufacturing and one for engineering and construction companies.

The Accelerator for industrial manufacturing offers 29 business flows such as manufacturing management covering 16 J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne modules. The Accelerator for engineering and construction covers 18 business flows such as project-related expense management capabilities across 11 J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne modules.
