Solution provider Net@Work, a major player in the Sage Software channel, is expanding its Sage-related business even more with the acquisition of Huckstep & Associates.

Huckstep & Associates provides accounting, human resource management and software implementation services to nonprofit organizations and government entities. Net@Work is using the acquisition to launch a practice with services for nonprofits, the company said Friday.

New York-based Net@Work is a leading solutions provider that, in addition to Sage, partners with Cisco, Citrix, Dell, EMC, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft and VMware. The company provides systems integration, Web development, e-commerce, content management and business applications services.

"For years we've worked with a number of prominent nonprofits, and have been waiting for the right opportunity -- which is to say, the right partner -- to establish a dedicated nonprofit practice," said Alex Solomon, Net@Work's co-president, in a statement.

"Jeannie Huckstep and her team bring unmatched expertise in fund accounting, HR, payroll and software implementation, with a deep understanding of the inner workings and needs of nonprofits and government agencies. In addition to providing Huckstep's sizeable client base with comprehensive business and IT support, we're now equipped to extend our full complement of services to nonprofits in all niches, including workforce, community action, health care, education, research and other types of nonprofits," he said.

"As fellow Sage business partners, we've known Net@Work for some time now and have always been impressed with their high level competency and our shared focus on customer support," Huckstep said in the statement. She will serve as Net@Work's nonprofit practice director, and her team will remain headquartered in Springfield, Mo.

Founded in 1994, Huckstep has more than 350 nonprofit and public sector agency customers in 35 states.
