The Channel Company announced today that it is adding to its CRN media portfolio with the launch of ITbestofbreed.com, a new site dedicated to helping solution providers build, manage and transform their businesses, both from a technology and a business model perspective.
The new site is an adjunct to The Channel Company's Best of Breed Conference that was launched four years ago to provide leading solution providers with guidance and best practices as they redefine their businesses. HP CEO Meg Whitman and Dell CEO Michael Dell will both keynote this year's October event.
Itbestofbreed.com will be spearheaded by award winning Freelance Business Journalist and High Tech Specialist Heather Clancy, who will return to The Channel Company on a part time basis after a 6 year absence to work with a team of editors on the direction and execution of the site.
"I'm thrilled to have Heather back and once again focusing on channel business issues," said Channel Company CEO Robert Faletra. "Heather has such an amazing varied journalist resume that we feel she is the perfect fit to produce the right mix of business, technical and futuristic thinking type content to make Itbestofbreed.com a must go site for elite solution providers."
"I'm looking forward to reconnecting with all my solution provider and channel-focused vendor friends as we build a cutting edge site that along with CRN will help the cloud channel ecosystem advance and prosper," said 25-year high tech business journalist Clancy.
In addition to original content generated by Clancy and ITbestofbreed.com-focused editors from CRN, the new initiative will curate relevant content from around the web as well as offer sponsors the opportunity to talk directly to readers through a variety of creative means including, video, blogs and other focused material.
With the mid-May launch of itbestofbreed.com, The Channel Company is pioneering the concept of Collaborative Media. The new concept combines the experience of professional journalists, insight from market veterans and the pulse of emerging content sources, such as social media, to help close knowledge gaps or affect change in a specific industry.
“Through the use of Collaborative Media ITbestofbreed.com will offer an ability to bring clarity and organization to the enormous amount of business transformational information coming at the solution provider community from hundreds of sources," Faletra said. It plays perfectly to one of Heather's unique strengths of being able to gather information from many sources and organize it in such a way that readers can see all the truly transformational business thinking in a single place.”
“The combination of CRN and ITbestofbreed means solution providers will be able to get the full picture of breaking news and analysis as well as best in class business strategy and thought leadership information,” Faletra said
This year's Best of Breed Conference is scheduled for Oct. 13-15 at the Hyatt regency Cypress in Orlando.
