CRN Channel Madness: Solutions 16 Jockeying For Leads In Round 2

Voting for Round 2 of the CRN Channel Madness Tournament of Chiefs continued through the weekend, leaving several of the executives jockeying for leads.

With 24 hours left in the voting, let's take a look at where the Solutions 16 stand.

In the Infrastructure region, the tightest battle of the round is raging between HP's Sue Barsamian and Shannon Sbar of APC by Schneider Electric. Sbar was behind by 10 points on Friday but has jumped out to a healthy lead as of Monday, 53 percent to 47 percent.

F5's Jim Ritchings exited the weekend with a smile on his face after extending his advantage over Eaton's Herve Tardy. Ritchings now leads 56 percent to 44 percent.

In the Hardware region, Sophos's Mike Valentine entered the weekend trailing NetApp's Thomas Stanley but Valentine is now sitting pretty, leading 58 percent to 42 percent.

And Ruckus's Ron Gill continues to hold off Dell's Cheryl Cook 55 to 45.

On to the Cloud region where VMware's Frank Rauch and Axcient's Justin Moore were neck-and-neck on Friday. Rauch played hard over the weekend and now leads 57 percent to 43 percent.

Verizon's Adam Famularo came out of the gate strong against VMware's Dave O'Callaghan and now has turned on the jets to pull ahead 61 percent to 39 percent.

Wrapping up with the Software region, IBM's Marc Dupaquier lost a bit of ground, dropping five points but continues his assault on Microsoft's Phil Sorgen. Dupaquier leads 61 percent to 39 percent in the most heavily voted contest of the round so far.

And Microsoft's Jenni Flinders continues to deflect Citrix's Tom Flink. Flinders dropped one point over the weekend but still holds a commanding lead over Flink 57 percent to 43 percent.
