ERP Superstar Acquires Top Sage Reseller

Enterprise resource planning provider Net @ Work has bought top Sage North America partner Dresser & Associates, adding it to a list of Sage-centric acquisitions the company has carried out within the last two years.

The deal will help New York-based Net @ Work bolster its Sage offerings for human resources management after Dresser, headquartered in Scarborough, Maine, was recognized as the top reseller of Sage's HR management systems for the second consecutive year. It has been one of the top three HRMS resellers for the last 15 years, according to a statement from Net @ Work.

The acquisition of Dresser ’takes our already strong employer solutions practice to the next level,’ Alex Solomon, co-president and co-owner of Net @ Work, said in a prepared statement.

Solomon added that although Net @ Work is looking to benefit from Dresser & Associates' expertise in the installation, and support of Sage’s HRM system, the newly acquired company will be able to offer Net @ Work's full portfolio of ERP/accounting, customer relationship management (CRM), document management, web development, ecommerce, marketing automation and cloud/managed IT services to all its clients.

"Our customers will now have unfettered access to a complete, centrally managed IT solutions portfolio that gives them the support, infrastructure and tools needed to more effectively compete,’ Dresser & Associates' founder Mark Dresser said in a prepared statement. "This is a very exciting development."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dresser & Associates is the most recent in a line of Net @ Work acquisitions in recent years that are intended to improve its portfolio, many of which have been Sage-centric businesses.

In January, Net @ Work - No. 366 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500 list - acquired ecommerce business Pixafy, expanding its capability to build B2B and B2C websites based on the Magento open-source ecommerce platform.

In November 2015, Net @ Work bought the Sage practice of CliftonLarsonAllen, a Peoria Ill.-based national services firm. Four months earlier, Net @ Work acquired St. Louis-based consultant and Sage 300/Sage CRM applications reseller Axis Integrated Solutions.

The company said it has created a strategy of partnering with, and occasionally acquiring, companies with practices that extend its business and technology offerings, and integrate them with Net @ Work's more extensive technology stack.

That strategy, according to Net @ Work, has allowed the company, founded in 1996, to grow beyond its original network support focus into a provider of a full range of IT services and solutions.

As part of the deal, Mark Dresser was appointed practice director of employer solutions for Net @ Work.
