CRN Exclusive: SADA Systems Hires Microsoft Big Data, IoT Expert

SADA Systems, a cloud computing services provider, brought on former Neudesic senior solution partner Tom Marek as the company’s new enterprise solutions team director, continuing its push to bolster its Microsoft business.

Marek comes to SADA, No. 342 on the 2016 CRN Solution Provider 500 list, from Microsoft partner Neudesic, No. 225 on the 2016 CRN SP500 list, where he held a number of positions.

His appointment comes only a week after SADA hired former Neudesic executive Mitesh Patel as the head of service delivery for SADA’s Microsoft practice and six months after the company hired Mark Haddad to the position of vice president of Microsoft sales.

SADA’s increased push into its Microsoft business is one that Marek said makes sense for the company as it grows and as Microsoft’s investment into new avenues generates more interest from end users.

’Looking at the overall growth [of SADA], it is a natural evolution for SADA to look to break more into the midmarket and enterprise space. But also, the amount of investment that is going into the [Microsoft] Azure space is really driving a huge amount of interest,’ he said.

Marek has more than 20 years of experience implementing Microsoft’s business products across cloud, analytics, the Internet of Things and integration for Fortune 500 customers, and said he is looking forward to continue creating solutions utilizing the newest technology in his new role.

’I love bringing that innovative solution. You have got things around Cortana intelligence, the IoT suite and all of the various mobile areas in Azure that are so extremely cutting edge today. There are new services coming out every week, if not every month, inside that space. It is just a really fun space to be living in today,’ he said.

To start, however, Marek said that he is looking to get up to speed and observe his new team. After that, he said he is looking forward to expand SADA’s offerings as the company continues to focus on becoming a full-service partner.

’[We're looking to expand] the scope of offerings for our customers and really become their full-service, go-to partner. We have infrastructure services, development services, a focus on CRM and all of these areas are areas that we should be able to tackle. I really need to make sure the catalog of solutions that we are bringing to our clients is really hitting on all cylinders across the catalog,’ he said.

Marek’s career has also included management responsibilities at LexisNexis and Marshall & Swift, where he headed research and development for the company’s analytics software division.

He has also served on the Microsoft Data Platform Partner Advisory Council, a group of leaders from Microsoft’s top partners, since 2013.
