Whitman Praises Partners, Progress At GPC

HP CEO Meg Whitman reaffirmed the company’s loyalty to the channel at the HP Global Partner Conference this week, and asked that in a new era of IT, partners continue to pledge their allegiance to the company.

Whitman kicked off the conference by declaring that HP has made ’real progress’ in the past year, underlying the company's improved balance sheet and highlighting innovative product releases.

"We are on the right path. I call that progress, and you have been with us the whole way," Whitman said to partners.

Whitman identified cloud, security, big data and mobility as major trends shaping the new landscape of IT, but also highlighted a "path that is not sustainable" in data center costs and consumption.

"To meet today's incredible demand in a sustainable way, HP created Moonshot," said Whitman. ’Moonshot represents truly revolutionary innovation and R&D."

Whitman also gave Converged Systems a shout-out, particularly ConvergedSystem 500 for SAP HANA, which has been touted as a throw-down against IBM's x86 server line.
