"Bring TelePresence to the masses."

That's the personal mission of Cisco's still relatively new general manager of Collaboration Technology and senior vice president, Rowan Trollope.

"The vision and mission that I've kind of been on since I've been at Cisco is to bring an amazing quality collaboration experience, specifically video to everyone in the world," said Trollope.

Trollope showed off Cisco's bold, new TelePresence product, the SX10. Trollope said before the model, most office workers had to make a decision: Shell out serious money for high-performance video, or pinch pennies and work with choppy, unreliable service.

The SX10 is an all-in-one unit, which has a setup time out of the box that Trollope said is faster than setting up a new iPhone.

And rather than designing another remote to have sit on the conference table, Cisco built Proximity, an app similar to Bluetooth, which automatically searches and finds devices, turning smartphones into remote controls.

The SX10 enables 1,080p30 resolution video and has an 83-degree field of view. It sells for about the cost of a PC.
