Less than 50 percent of Dell's sales go through the channel, but CEO Michael Dell is adamant that things are moving in the right direction for the company's partners.

’You gotta start somewhere, and certainly, from 2007, when we formed Partner Direct to today, at $20 billion-plus growth, growing in double digits, I think you have to say that’s pretty marvelous,’ Dell said.

The Dell CEO predicted the number will ’only go up,’ and that channel sales will account for half of all business ’relatively soon.’ He pointed out how the Round Rock, Texas-based company has embraced the channel in significant ways, focusing on distribution.
