Another high-ranking executive said adios to Citrix Systems this week, and rumors around an acquisition of the company continue to swirl.

Marketing Vice President Matthew Morgan is the latest in a line of executives who have departed the company and announced plans to leave over the past few months. Morgan has jumped to startup Hortonworks.

And Wall Street analysts speculate that Citrix might soon follow in the steps of big data company Informatica, which was bought out by a private equity firm for $5.3 billion this week.

Storage and security company Barracuda Networks revamped its partner program this week, adding a new level and MSP program. A little more than 100 partners will move into a new Premiere partner level, and all partners will have access to a rebooted partner portal and training.

Managed service provider partners will be pleased to know the company’s new MSP program will allow them to purchase Barracuda Backup and NG Firewall assets for their end users.

And, finally, after three weeks of voting, we have a champion in the CRN Channel Madness Tournament of Chiefs. Mike Valentine of Sophos claimed victory in the 32-chief bracket, defeating Verizon's Adam Famularo in the finale.

Valentine made a comeback after trailing Famularo with less than 24 hours left, and won the contest with 66 percent of the votes.
