Channel Beat: What's Got Dell And HP Partners So Heated?

There’s trouble in paradise between Dell and HP and their respective partners this week. Both vendors have decided to resell the Microsoft Surface Pro, which has partners up in arms.

Dell and HP both revealed the new reselling programs Tuesday. The deal puts the vendors in direct competition with the channel with Dell’s program starting next month. Partners will not be able to source Surface Pro from either HP orDell, and many partners see the deals as a slight.

Palo Alto Networks continues to charge ahead after posting big numbers in Q4 this week.

Revenue for the quarter was up 59 percent yearoveryear, and yearly revenue was up a full 55 percent. Palo Alto’s CEO said the numbers are the result of pulling ahead of their competition, including Cisco and Check Poin t.

Palo Alto partner CDW grew its business with the vendor by 50 percent during the fiscal year.

And, finally, Apple introduced the world to its latest products this week, which include a new i P ad and two new iPhones.

Partners are particularly excited about the new iPad Pro, which hits shelves in November. The tablet features a much larger screen, detachable keyboard, and first-ever Apple stylus named Apple Pencil.

The iPhone 6S and 6S+ have new hardware, 3-D touch capability, and an upgraded camera. Apple promises improved speed and performance on the phones, which will hit stores in two weeks.
