The Wall Street Journal hasreported that we could see an acquisition of EMC by Dell within the next week.

EMC shares jumped 8 percent in after-hours trading following the report that the company was in "advanced talks" with Dell. EMC has a market capitalization of $50 billion, so a merger would be one of the biggest tech deals we've ever seen.

Solution providers overall support the deal, which would increase competition among Dell-EMC, HP and Cisco.
