Logicalis CEO Forecasts The Three Trends That Will Change IT

Vince DeLuca, CEO of mega solution provider Logicalis, predicts three trends will significantly impact the IT channel: line of business taking power from traditional IT, an increased role of services, and improved customer experiences.

In terms of line of business, DeLuca said line of business will continue to make more and more decisions around technical directions of companies, rather than traditional IT. But that doesn’t mean IT won’t still have an important role.

’IT will still play a major role in helping companies use technology and services to drive their respective services,’ DeLuca said.

’In today’s world, strategies are being built through the epicenter of technology. That’s what helping companies drive their strategy and their direction,’ he added.

DeLuca said channel players should focus more on services than technology for technology’s sake.

’We think that while technology will play a significant role, services will play a more significant role in the future. Consumption will be through a service, not just using a technology,’ he said.

But perhaps the most important trend is the ever-increasing importance of customer experience.

’It really is about the customer experience,’ DeLuca said.

DeLuca explained that simplicity is key to ensuring a positive customer experience. In technology, that means ’taking a very complex world’ and ’driving to a simplistic perspective.’

’What makes you want to continue to do things in this advanced world? It’s simplicity, it’s the experience that you have,’ DeLuca said.
