EMC started cutting jobs this week as part of an $850 million cost-cutting effort for 2016.

Sources told CRN EMC laid off a significant number of marketing employees, with manufacturing and operations positions also being affected.

Josh Kahn, senior vice president of global solutions, was among those laid off. EMC declined to comment on the cuts.

MobileIron named a new CEO this week, Barry Mainz will replace Bob Tinker.
