Channel Beat: How Much Money Will Dell Lose Through Eventual Perot Systems Sale?

Dell will sell the business division known as Dell Services to NTT Data, the company said this week. Dell purchased the business in 2009 when it was known as Perot Systems.

Dell will sell the business for $3.06 billion; it bought Perot Systems for $3.9 billion.

The deal works into Dell’s large-scale acquisition of EMC, for which it’s trying to raise money. Perot Systems was founded by former presidential hopeful Ross Perot.

This week, IBM reached a deal to acquire cloud software consulting company Bluewolf, which specializes in Salesforce integration.

IBM will purchase Bluewolf for a reported $200 million, although exact details of the deal had not been disclosed at the time of this taping.

The acquisition comes on the heels of IBM’s purchase of cloud video hosting service UStream in January.
