Channel Beat: Michael Dell Slams HPE At EMC World

Michael Dell targeted Hewlett Packard Enterprise in his keynote address at EMC World this week.

The Dell Chairman and CEO said HPE has slashed R&D spending and that Dell is stealing market share from the company.

Dell referenced market-share data from IDC that showed Dell's growth and HP's declines, and said it's clear "who's winning, and who's losing."

FireEye CEO Dave DeWalt will step down from his role and take on the position of executive chairman, he said this week.

DeWalt has spent four years as CEO of the security company. He will be replaced by Kevin Mandia, effective June 15.

DeWalt said the change will allow FireEye a "fresh look at things."

Reports that Riverbed Technology may once again go public, after being a private company for one year, has partners less than enthused.

This week reports surfaced that Riverbed was gearing up for its second IPO, a year after the networking company was acquired by private equity firms.

Riverbed partners are concerned the company will lose competitiveness if it once again becomes a public company.
