How To Run, Change And Grow A Company Through Digital Transformation

Digital transformation presents enormous business opportunities for solution providers, but in the real world, customers and companies need to maintain their businesses while they go through that transition. Global solution provider Tech Mahindra, based in Pune, India, has outlined its value proposition in the changing landscape in three areas.

"We really talk about three things: We help our customers run better, we help our customers change faster, we help our customers grow greater," said Raman Abrol, business head of communications, media and entertainment at Tech Mahindra.

When it comes to running better, Abrol explained: "You still have to keep the lights on, you still have to service your customers, you still have to do your day-to-day while you're pivoting to the future."

Change is the key component in this strategy.

"How do you get a customer who wants to have a software-defined network or a proactive OSS, how do you make them go through the transition?" Abrol asked.

"We took a Tier 1 service provider for us who had just 48 million online customers and subscribers, and we got them to 81.2 million in about two years," he said.

In the end, however, it all comes down to revenue.

"We have also partnered strategically with some of our clients to do co-creation, creating joint intellectual property that we take to market," Abrol said.

Tech Mahindra has found significant growth through its go-to-market wins with partner clients, he said.

"Here, the power of Tech Mahindra really comes into play, with several verticals working together, so if one of my customers in North America wants to take their IoT solution that we co-created with them to an insurance giant or a chemical company in the U.S., we go with them together and sell it. That deepens the partnership," Abrol said.
