SAP Ariba Celebrates 20 Years, Seeks Further Growth Through Channel

Software company SAP Ariba is celebrating its 20thanniversary, but the "Amazon.com for B2B business" is focused on achieving future growth with the help of its channel partners.

SAP Ariba, one of the first B2B Internet companies to go public in 1999, has grown its business to a self-reported $1 trillion in commerce, but Chief Strategy Officer Chris Haydon said the goal is to grow to $5 trillion by 2020.

’We actually see [the channel] as intrinsic to our success. We don’t get there without it,’ Haydon told CRNtv.

’To get to $5 trillion in 2020, when it took us 20 years to get to $1 trillion, is really through partners,’ he added.

SAP Ariba offers cloud-based source-to-pay solutions and business networks on a single, integrated platform and interface.

Haydon said the company has ramped up its pace of innovation over the last year, and expects to tap into more international markets, including China.
