Veeam President: $200M Commitment Aimed At Moving Partners To The Cloud

Peter McKay took the role of President and COO at Veeam just over six months ago, and he's been making a large impact.

With a customer-focused approach to selling cloud, McKay told CRN that in the sale of software-as-a-service, the goal is to focus on the needs of customers. According to McKay, "If customers are happy, recurring revenue takes place, and growth continues."

One of the main updates to Veeam's Cloud Connect program, which he refers to as "Cloud Connect 2.0," is the fact that the compensation received by sales reps won't change, regardless of what type of cloud services they sell.

McKay noted that with this change also comes great opportunity. This large investment will help Veeam compete with cloud service giants such as Amazon Web Services.

Ultimately, if a Veeam sales representative sells a perpetual, or a subscription, they will receive the same pay. And, they are receiving it up front. With such a significant investment towards getting partners to integrate cloud technology, McKay is confident that this will ultimately bring businesses together, keep enterprise moving forward, and create greater productivity for all involved.
