Kaseya launched its first cloud-based IT systems management solution this week, a strategy to complement its legacy on-premise-based solution. Kaseya IT Center offers a family of cloud-based services to remotely monitor and manage an end user's IT infrastructure, according to Jim Alves, executive vice president of Kaseya.
"It's nice to be in that rare environment where you can offer the same [functionality] to a base of prospects and customers, either on premise or on demand," Alves said. "It's something we've talked about and we're finally able to deliver. It's built on our Kaseya 2 platform so the functionality between on-premise and cloud-based is virtually identical."
Kaseya IT Center's core functions include discovery and IT inventory, patch management, help desk, performance, SNMP and log monitoring, agent IT automation procedures, management reporting, line connect remote access and an IT service delivery kit, according to Kaseya. The cloud-based platform supports servers, workstations and notebooks running Windows or Mac OS X.
Before the end of the quarter, Kaseya plans to add more advanced bundles and functionality that should include a Linux agent, desktop migration, antivirus, antimalware, integration, enterprise monitoring, online back up and more, Alves said.
