Cloud platform-as-a-service and online database LongJump Monday launched a pair of new services to add social and mobile flavor to cloud applications.

The new offerings, dubbed LongJump Relay and LongJump Javelin, respectively, add a new social interface to business apps and turn custom apps into standalone mobile apps on the fly with no coding required and across disparate platforms. The company said the integrated cloud platform gives developers and solution providers the ability to embrace converged cloud, social and mobile applications.

"It's Web-based. It's social. It's mobile," LongJump CEO Pankaj Malviya said in an interview.

According to Malviya, LongJump Javelin lets business access browser-based data apps as native mobile apps across iOS or Android smartphones or tablet devices. Javelin offers access to database records, arranged by applications an objects, over an optimized interface for tablet and smartphone touch screens. It will launch in the Android Market and hit other app stores soon. Javelin lets users add, edit, delete and search records; execute workflow actions; and mobilize existing user data, permissions, security and other preferences from the desktop browser version.

Meanwhile, LongJump Relay adds a real-time social element to cloud applications where users can share statuses, follow records and remain updated on changes. Other features include a REST API that enables relay functionality to connect with other business systems. Malviya said users receive updates on followed activities and people via a feed.

Malviya said Javelin and Relay spawned from the confluence of mobile, social and cloud computing elements into business applications. Malviya said SMBs will benefit most, as the platform gives them the ability to customize apps without any coding. Enterprises, too, will be able to build apps in days and weeks while managing, controlling and sharing data.

And LongJump's multi-tenant cloud application platform lets ISVs build and deliver apps for Web and mobile, which decreases their time to market and boosts their brand control.

For resellers, Malviya said, the new LongJump Relay and Javelin offerings will let developers build custom apps for customers and create the opportunity to manager custom business processes. LongJump Javelin and Relay are available now and are incorporated into LongJump's on-demand PaaS offering, online database or CRM.
