Ingram Micro Adds Kaseya, Symantec, Trend Micro To Cloud Arsenal

Solutions from the three vendors are available through Ingram Micro Cloud, launched last year and now including 25 solutions from a dozen vendors, according to Jason Bystrak, sales director of services for Ingram Micro.

The addition of Symantec's Backup Exec.cloud complements the vendor's Endpoint Protection.cloud already available through Ingram Micro Cloud, Bystrak said.

"We started working with Symantec early in the year on a [cloud] road map. They're one of Ingram's top vendors and they're all in. They understand VARs want to offer cloud versions in a stack model," Bystrak said.

Meanwhile, Trend Micro's Deep Security is new to Ingram Micro Cloud, joining that vendor's Worry-Free Business Security Services available as cloud solutions through Ingram Micro.

"Trend Micro is really a pioneer in terms of security for cloud. We've worked with them for a while as well," Bystrak said.

Kaseya joins N-able, Level Platforms and others as RMM tools available through Ingram Micro Cloud. Having a deep portfolio in that category is important to Ingram Micro's MSPs, Bystrak said.

"That complements the other RMM tools we have, giving VARs a choice for what tool they want to deliver NOC services," Bystrak said. "Kaseya has great expertise around mobile management too."

Ingram Micro unveiled the new offerings at its VentureTech Network Fall Invitational Conference in Las Vegas Tuesday.

Symantec and Trend Micro were added as Ingram Micro Cloud partners in August.

"It's an ongoing evolution as we want to build the portfolio. This year we really focused on the infrastructure layer. We added different vendors for the data center, the security layer and the virtualization layer and a little in the business applications layer," Bystrak said. "In 2012 you'll see a great expansion in business applications from us, different CRM and ERP and HR solutions. That's the next step."

Ingram Micro's services organization now has more than 50 employees, more than double the amount from January, Bystrak said. That's due to increased demand for cloud services from VARs and MSPs, many of whom attended the VentureTech conference.

"The conversation here is moving from what is the cloud and what should we be thinking about to talking about the financial aspects of converting to cloud, sales training, sales compensation plans and talking to the right people at the end client," Bystrak said. "We're definitely starting to move into an implementation phase for 2012."
