WWT Sees Increase In Private Cloud Adoption

Tony Berg, data center director at World Wide Technology (WWT), spoke with CRN TV about how his company’s business has evolved with the advent of cloud computing. “We have a lot of our enterprise customers that are really building out private cloud infrastructure,” Berg said. “So they’re looking at things like Vblock and FlexPod and different converged infrastructure to build out their platform internally.”

Berg also said that customers are also starting to see the value of converged infrastructures and vendor architectures from companies like Cisco, EMC, NetApp and VMware. While the complexities and challenges of replacing legacy systems are daunting, Berg said customers understand the value of going with a best-of-breed solution with proven products that have been architected to work together.

And while these architecture deals typically have a longer sales cycle, the converged infrastructure also expands the deal size, Berg said.
