Oracle snapped up cloud-based talent management company SelectMinds Monday, continuing its string of deals to address the growing market for cloud-based social networking.

SelectMinds offers social talent sourcing and alumni management apps that help hiring managers use social connections to manage and market job referrals, Oracle said.

The SelectMinds deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, complements Oracle's $1.92 billion purchase of employee talent management software provider Taleo on Feb. 9.

Oracle is offering Taleo's software through the Oracle Public Cloud service.

Adding SelectMinds to Oracle's talent management cloud services will streamline recruiting practices, locate quality referrals and lead to better employee performance, Thomas Kurian, executive vice president of Oracle Development, wrote in a letter to Oracle customers and partners on Oracle's website.

"Together, Oracle and SelectMinds expect to create a comprehensive recruiting, candidate sourcing, and talent management solution for organizations to reach quality referrals through social recruitment," Kurian wrote. "The addition of SelectMinds is expected to further extend Oracle's social and mobile initiatives into talent management and is already fully integrated with Oracle Cloud Recruiting, Performance Management and Human Capital Management solutions."

Oracle has made a series of acquisitions this year, including the Taleo purchase in February, and the June 5 purchase of Collective Intellect, which helps Oracle increase its tools to manage social media marketing efforts.
