Google has released a feature that lets solution providers and developers integrate Google Apps reseller tools into their sales and customer relations systems to attract more customers.

Called Reseller API, the feature supports Google Apps for Business, Google Apps Vault and Google Drive.

With the new API, users can add new customer accounts, transfer customers and view customer subscription information.

"For IT service providers and channel tools developers looking for a way to scale their businesses, we built a new Reseller API to let you integrate and automate components of the Google Apps reseller tools into your own customer and sales systems," Jaideep Mirchandani, product manager for Google Enterprise, wrote in a blog.

Google cited as an example of a Reseller API user Korea-based Megazone, a hosting provider that used the feature to allow Web-based customers to easily sign up for access to Google Apps.

Once the customer opts-in for a Google Apps trial, the customer gains access to Megazone's reseller console with a trial subscription, Google said. The customer can then immediately begin to use Google Apps, Google said.
