Cloud Sherpas' merger with GlobalOne earlier this year appears to be paying off, with the company projecting continued growth as it refashions itself as a full-purpose cloud solution provider.

With the March merger, Atlanta, Ga.-based Cloud Sherpas, a Google Apps provider, joined with Salesforce.com integrator GlobalOne, effectively doubling its business.

The company said Tuesday it has more than 2,000 clients and projects 2012 revenue at $45 million, more than double the results from 2011. Cloud Sherpas said it has moved 2 million workers to the cloud.

To help manage its growth, Cloud Sherpas has brought on board two former Capgemini executives. Chris Arroyo joins the company as CFO, having held a similar position at Capgemini. Also joining is Gary Diorio, who will lead Cloud Sherpas’ Salesforce.com business. At Capgemini, Diorio headed the company's SAP business unit.

Cloud Sherpas, named as Enterprise 2011 Partner of the Year by Google in January and a Salesforce Gold Partner in the U.S., is also offering an expanded set of services to help businesses make a leap to the cloud.

"We are positioning ourselves as a cloud solution provider, not just a Google solution provider or a Salesforce.com integrator," said Michael Cohn, senior vice president of Cloud Sherpas. The company's services include solution implementation, management, support and education.

Cloud Sherpas' core Google Apps business continues to gain traction in the marketplace. At $50 per user, Google Apps offers Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drive, among other offerings.

"This is no longer a fringe product," Cohn said. "It's very much a mainstream product in industries like the media, government, manufacturing and financial services."
