Hewlett-Packard has rolled out a cloud-based IT service desk to help businesses more quickly resolve incidents.

HP Service Anywhere delivers IT service management software-as-a-service in a cloud environment, the company said.

The service gives users access to help desk services through integration with HP Universal Configuration Management Database, which manages services, applications and hardware relationships across the IT environment.

Businesses can access help desk collaboration through a user interface to deploy, manage and upgrade services.

"We've made this service really easy to use," said Manoj Raisinghani, director of cloud automation software and SaaS product marketing, HP Software, in an interview. "We are also offering integration tools to let users see the entire environment."

HP Service Anywhere provides help desk capabilities, such as handling of inbound requests, IT service configuration, incident, problem and change management. HP Service Anywhere also features social collaboration for sharing and recording advice and communications.

George Flansburg, operations management practice lead with HP partner ResultsPositive, of Chandler, Ariz., said his customers are looking for cloud-based IT service desk solutions that are easy to implement and configure. "From a professional services standpoint, we can enable the customers to maintain and update these programs," Flansburg said.
