Google Trumps AWS With Its Own Cloud Storage Price Cuts

Google apparently does not want to be outdone by rival Amazon Web Services when it comes to cloud storage pricing.

Google announced a 10 percent price cut Thursday to its Cloud Storage services, following a 20 percent reduction on Monday.

The overall 30 percent price cut comes as Google's rival Amazon Web Services unveiled a 25 percent cut in its Amazon Simple Storage Service (AS3) Wednesday at its AWS re: Invent partner conference in Las Vegas.

"We are very committed to delivering the best value in the marketplace to businesses and developers looking to operate in the cloud," a Google spokesperson said in a statement. "This price reduction applies to all Cloud Storage regions and the new DRA Storage."
