ViewSonic Names New President Of Global Products Group

The company announced the appointment Monday and said Ho will assume responsibility for the group's "overall direction."

Before taking the job at ViewSonic, Ho was CEO of the Sampo Group, a Taiwan-based maker of consumer electronics and communications products. Sampo's sales grew by nearly $500 million, to $2 billion, during Ho's tenure.

ViewSonic has faced an increasingly competitive display market. Last week, the company unveiled what it said were the world's fastest 17-inch and 19-inch LCD monitors, calling them breakthrough products.

ViewSonic's Walnut, Calif.-based Americas organization also has been in transition, with Christopher Franey, who had been president of that unit for about a year, stepping down from the post last month.
