SAN JOSE, Calif. — Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) reported fourth quarter 2006 revenue of $1.77 billion, an operating loss of $527 million, and a net loss of $574 million, or minus $1.08 per share.

These results include acquisition-related and integration charges of $550 million for ATI Technologies and a $27 million of employee stock-based compensation expense.

In the previous period, AMD (Sunnyvale, Calif.) posted a profit of $119 million on sales of $1.328 billion. The company reported a profit of $268 million on sales of $1.351 billion a year ago.

Fourth quarter microprocessor unit shipments grew 26 percent year-over-year and 19 percent sequentially. In a seasonally down first quarter, AMD expects revenue to be in the range of $1.6 to $1.7 billion.

Despite a price war with AMD, Intel Corp. last week beat Wall Street's estimates for Q4.
