NEC Display Solutions of America is launching several new solutions bundles in conjunction with the 2008 Digital Signage Expo this week in Las Vegas including a multi-panel solution and one designed specifically for office and business lobby areas.

The pre-configured NEC TileMatrix Video Wall Solution is mace up of four NEC 46-inch MultiSync LCD4620-2-IT displays and can be networked to include up to 25 displays in a 5 x 5 arrangement using NEC's TileMatrix technology. The solution brings together NEC's displays and software with a Digital Factory PerfectAlign Mounting System, Extron high-performance cables and a Tripp Lite surge suppressor.

The four-screen solution starts at $18,999.99 and will be available in March.

The NEC Lobby Signage Solution, designed for the SMB, corporate and hospitality markets, brings together a 40-inch NEC AccuSync PV40 display, mounting hardware, PC hardware, content management software, and power suppression technologies. The components include one display, XtraView technology for wide-angle viewing, a HD tuner and detachable speaker. It's powered by NOW Micro's Medius Digital Engine PC with Microsoft XP Professional OS.

The NEC Lobby Signage Solution, also available in March, starts at $7,999.99.

"We're trying to make it easy for the resellers to be able to sell these products," said Pierre Richer, executive vice president, sales and marketing, NEC Display Solutions, Itasca, Ill.

"These are bundled solutions that we're going to SKU-up through the distributors. We're taking many components and putting them in one box and we're making an investment to make sure that it's easy for the channel," Richer said.

"We're a display company but we're not just focused on the display, because signage is so much more than a display There's so much revenue associated with that market, and we want to help the VARS get into that business. Everybody wants to get into signage and they don't know how. This is like a starter kit for digital signage," he said.

The bundles should be a win for NEC and for its resellers who are established digital signage solution providers or those who are looking to begin incorporating digital signage into their portfolios.

"We're all about growing the solutions base. As a hardware company, you have to have a solution wrapped around your product. That's the key. Everybody is searching for solutions and added revenue and margins and that's what we do best," Richer said.
