Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) is set to roll out its new mobile phone accessory, the MBP200 Pico Projector, in May, according to reports.

Also on the horizon is the Samsung i7410 projector-phone, which is slated for a summer release, according to unwiredview.com.

The portable MBP200 can connect to mobile phones and laptops. By using the DLP pico chip from Texas Instruments, the projector lets users transform a traditional 2-inch screen into a 50-inch viewing screen.

Users can also transfer files and project content independent of an attached source via the microSD card slot. The MBP200's design features touch-pad controls on the right side of the device for easier navigation and a 2.2-inch QVGA LCD screen that lets users view content privately.

The projector independently supports standard Microsoft Office and PDF formats for display. Users can also listen to music and create playlists, as well as view video, pictures and PDF, PowerPoint, Word or Excel files.

The MBP200 comes with a small screen holder with a telescoping pole hidden inside, which can turn a standard sheet of paper into a screen to view movies, document files or pictures. It will retail for 499 Euro or roughly $640 USD.

As for the Samsung i7410 projector-phone, the company has not yet revealed a price but said it will ship sometime this summer.

The tiny projector phone has a standard MP3 function, touch screen and a 5-megapixel camera. It can project an image from 5 inches to 50 inches at QVGA 480x320px resolution.

The i7410 projector also features a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900), with UMTS 2100 connectivity, and 150 MB of internal memory.
