Toshiba America Business Solutions Thursday said it has named Masahiro Yamada as chairman and chief executive officer.
Yamada succeeds Toshifumi Matsumoto, who will serve as chief marketing executive in the MFP (multifunction printer) business, and is responsible for worldwide sales and marketing.
In his new role, Yamada will oversee management of the company along with Mark Mathews, president and chief operating officer of Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS). Specifically, Yamada will focus on the development and deployment of business policy and strategy. Yamada has been with Toshiba since 1985, and most recently was deputy general manager of the Document Systems Business Group at Toshiba TEC, where he oversaw American and European MFP operations. The company did not name his replacement.
TABS is based in Irvine, Calif., and manages product planning, marketing, sales, service, support and distribution of copiers, fax machines, MFPs, network controllers and toner products in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The company has five divisions: Electronic Imaging; Toner Products; Document Solutions Engineering; International Division; and TOPAC U.S.A. Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary corporation of TABS, which operates a network of wholly owned office equipment dealers throughout the U.S.
