Hewlett-Packard Tuesday named Christopher Morgan as senior vice president of the Graphics Solutions business unit within the company's Imaging and Printing Group.
Morgan succeeds Michael Hoffmann, who is leaving HP to pursue other professional interests. Morgan will take up the position on Nov. 1, and will be based in San Diego. He will report to Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group.
In his new role, Morgan will oversee HP's Graphics Solutions business, which represents an estimated $30 billion global market, according to the company.
"The graphics marketplace is a tremendous opportunity for HP, with what we estimate will be 1.4 trillion prints going digital by 2012," Joshi said in a statement.
HP's graphics unit spans a portfolio of devices, services and solutions that cover segments including high-speed inkjet printing to design, signage and transactional publishing, and commercial digital presses.
"The graphics marketplace is a tremendous opportunity for HP, with what we estimate will be 1.4 trillion prints going digital by 2012," said Joshi.
Morgan is a 20-year HP veteran, and most recently was senior vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. Morgan oversaw sales and marketing, supply chain and operations, and customer experience across the consumer, SMB, enterprise and graphics segments.
