Flipping For The New Flip MinoHD Pocket Camcorder

Flip Wednesday took the wraps off an upgraded version of its tiny camcorder, MinoHD, which now lets you record 120 minutes of hi-def video that you can share on Facebook, YouTube and MySpace.

The pocket-sized product sports a 2-inch antiglare display, 2X digital zoom and is compatible with most video-playing apps, including Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player and iTunes.

The new MinoHD also sports a flip-out USB arm that plugs directly into a PC or Mac that launches preloaded FlipShare software. Users can create movies with video clips, music and titles and edit recorded segments and create still-image snapshots from video. If you're in stealth mode, the Mino has a silent mode feature for recording in what the company calls "sensitive situations."

Social networking capabilities are also an important part of the MinoHD. In addition to uploading videos to Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and other video sharing sites, you can also send videos privately as an attachment via free e-mails and greetings cards. Users can also create private Flip Channels to share videos with family and friends.

If you're planning to put the new Flip under the Christmas tree it will set you back $229 and will be available on store shelves Nov. 9. San Francisco-based Flip was acquired in March by Cisco.
