Nvidia Optimus Technology Featured On New MSI Notebook

MSI on Monday unveiled its new FX600MX notebook computer, which comes equipped with Nvidia's Optimus technology and can switch between discrete and integrated graphics processing depending on the requirements of specific workloads.

MSI’s new notebook automatically switches to the Nvidia GeForce 310M discrete graphics card for processing high-load applications and then back to the integrated GPU mode for less intensive tasks in order to save power.

Optimus technology, also known as GPU Boost Technology, automatically extends battery life and optimizes visualization technology without interfering with the user experience or requiring manual changes to settings.

The FX600MX automatically switches to discrete mode when better performance and battery life is needed for gaming and 3D-oriented workloads. It also includes 512MB of display memory to support its existing ECO Engine Power Saving Technology and Cinema Pro Technology.
